PDSA have been in school talking to the children about looking after and caring for pets. We had an assembly followed by workshops for each class throughout the day. Each year group had a different workshop; Classes 1 and 2 have been learning ‘Five Welfare Needs’, Classes 3 and 4 have been learning about ‘Caninie Communication’, and Classes 5 and 6 have been learning ‘Animal Heroes’.

World Book Day
On Friday 3rd March the children dressed up as their favourite character and enjoyed activities and stories all linked to traditional tales. Mrs Baxendale came into school to work with some Year 2 children writing their own story through drama and art.
Chinese New Year
We have been learning about Chinese New Year and how 2017 is the year of the Rooster. Michael visited our school and told us a fantastic story all about a Chinese Lion and the children were able to perform with the instruments and the Chinese Lion. They enjoyed this so much they decided to make their own Chinese Lion with boxes and then we all went outside to put on a show! The children have also tried some Chinese food for snack this week. We have tried noodles, rice and prawn crackers. A fantastic week!
A Cold January
In our Buddy Stop we have ‘Snuggly Throws’ for the children to keep warm while chatting and telling stories. They have all loved using them during our recent cold spell.
Bling your bike or scooter
Terrific response to our Bling your bike or scooter competition! More than 60 children entered – prizes for everyone. They had great fun in the sunshine this afternoon. Hope you enjoy all the bikes and scooters as much as we have in school!
