Numbers to 20
This half term we have been focusing on recognition of numbers to 20 and being able to place them in order. All of the children have completed a range of activities to help with this.
Billy Goats Gruff
Our topic this half term is ‘Traditional Tales’ and this week we have been reading the story “The Three Billy Goats Gruff”. We particularly enjoyed acting out the story in the hall, some of the children told the story, others took on the role of different characters and we had a few musicians making the ‘trip trap trip trap’ sound. Well done Class 2, great story telling. They continued this activity by themselves in the class room following this.
PE in EYFS – Yoga
The children in the Early Years participated in some yoga as part of the physical education curriculum. The yoga session was based on the story of Star Wars. As you can see the children enjoyed showing off their flexibility skills. This was an extra special session as the children were all wearing their pyjamas for Red Nose Day.
International and Fairtrade week
The children in classes 1 and 2 have had a great time preparing fruit for our Fairtrade coffee afternoon. We had a range of art activities and food tasting in the class room.

Michael visited our school and told us a fantastic story all about a Chinese Lion and the children were able to perform with the instruments and the Chinese Lion. They enjoyed this so much they decided to make their own Chinese Lion with boxes and then we all went outside to put on a show! The children have also tried some Chinese food for snack this week. We have tried noodles, rice and prawn crackers. A fantastic week!
